Four common malfunction forms of rollers wear:

  1. 1. Roller shell wear

Mainly refer to the break the middle part of the roller because of wear ,and the position where the idler touches the edge of the conveyor belt is also easy to wear and rupture

 

Key reasons:

1) The roller rotation friction resistance is large, and the friction between the roller and the conveyor belt is large, resulting in friction.

2) There is an angle of tilt between the rotation direction of the roller and the operating direction of the conveyor belt, which cause offset and enlarge the friction resulting in the wear of the roller.

3) The roller itself operates in a tough environment, resulting in friction between the roller and raw materials or other objects in direct contact.

 

  1. 2. Roller bearing is damaged

The main reason is that the roller bearing does not rotate smartly, which causes the bearing spots wear, even the roller does not rotate due to more serious rust.

Key reasons:

1) The selection of roller type of belt conveyor is unreasonable, resulting in the damage of bearing service life expiration.

2) The sealing effect of the roller bearing is not very good, which not only causes the environmental pollution by lubricating oil, also poor bearing wetting .

3) Belt conveyor idler assembly filling lubricating oil amount is less or lubricating oil quality is not good, which causes the idler wetting ineffective .

4) The whole mechanical design scheme of the belt conveyor is unreasonable, and the idlers cause resonance, which accelerate the bearing damage.

 

  1. 3.Roller bending and deformation.

The bending and damage form of the roller is very complicated,the main form is the

bending deformation of the roller axle causes the large deflection Angle, which leads to the friction between the axle and the bearing housing, and also easily leads to the sealing damage of the roller.

1) The choice of roller type of belt conveyor is not reasonable, and it can not meet the requirements of compressive strength and bending stiffness.

2) The whole mechanical design scheme of the belt conveyor is unreasonable, and only partial rollers bearing a large load, resulting in deformation.

 

  1. 4.Other damage forms of rollers

Such as shell and bearing housing welding, cracking, bearing slip and so on.

The key reason is the poor manufacturing quality of rollers,  the accurate positioning of bearing is not reasonable, The roller shell is thin, the electric welding is not firm with missing welding. Bearing installation is not timely.
